3/4 Light (Three-Quarter Back Light)
Belongs to the category "Key Light" also known as 3-Point Lighting. When the Key Light is missing from the shot at the classic 12 o'clock position, what remains are a three-quarter back light and fill light at 1 or 2 o'clock / 10 or 11 o'clock respectively. this light, regardless of intensity, is a very effective as it does not separate the subject from the background and rather accentuates the contours from the side of the object, for example illuminating a face. The more intense the light the more intense the effect. This technique is mostly used in "thrillers" and "action" genres.
