The Sound person or Sound engineer (as referred to on set). This position is responsible for the on set sound recording. For this he uses a recording device and is supported by Boom Operator or Sound Tech.

Also known as Sound Mixer, this person is responsible for recording all the sounds on the set: the dialogue of the actors and all corresponding sounds, even when not on camera, and the ambient room sound.
