The Art of Film
The term Film Art or the Art of Film refers to the medium in the opinion of the German theoretician Walter Dadek who spoke of the aesthetic of film, its value and quality and the artistic process of the "increase of the illusion of reality" of the filmed image. Like other classical forms of art (painting, music, literature, and so on) film defines itself according to its own criteria of quality; from mass communications device or commerical medium, he spoke of the power of film as a media. Film's potential to produce the illusion of reality is directly related to the medium's technological advancement. The higher its intrinsic quality the more powerful it is as a form of art.
