At a drama school actors are trained according to different methods of acting techniques with the goal of working in theater or in film and television. In Germany, for example there are both state-owned, privately operated drama schools. At most institutions, and especially for the most competitive schools an entrance exam is required, which includes an audition. The training at a drama school usually takes three years to complete.
