The task of "Script / Continuity means" in German "script continuity. In Hollywood of the 1950s and 60s this job famously always belonged to the so-called "script girl". A classic example of the importance of continuity script is the movement of an actor from an exterior to an interior setting. For example if in the scene it is raining outside, it is the script girls job to point out that the actor has just entered an interior shot dry as in real life. For dialogue scenes (shot reverse shot) is the amount of a drink or a the length of a candle or cigarette the same between takes. Cigarettes are especially difficult because they almost never can be approximated correctly for a second take.
