Key Scene
A key scene is a scene, the content of which plays an important part in illuminating the rest of the plot of a literary work or film or play; a scene in which a central character experiences an important revelation, wherein drama reaches a point of resolution between 2 or more central characters acting in concert. Famous key moments observed by many important directors: "In Fellini, it was the appearance of the fat woman, in Truffaut, the moment of desire before the kiss, with John Ford the ride through Monument Valley. For Steven Spielberg, it is the awakening of the little boy during the night ..." (Andreas Kilb, Die Zeit 33, 1997)
