"Akademie Breaks" during the Berlinale 2009

During the Berlinale 2009, the German Film Academy hosted a series of talks with film professionals, the "Akademie Breaks". Some of the most renowned German film creatives, all members of the German Film Academy, met their colleagues from all over the world to talk about their areas of work, with vivid participation of the audience:

Writing & Directing: Love Affair or Crime Scene? Oscar-winning director and scriptwriter Florian Gallenberger (JOHN RABE - winner of last year's LOLA for Best Film at the German Film Awards) talked with Ivy Ho, scriptwriter from Hong Kong;

From Kinshasa to Patagonia: Oscar winning directors Pepe Danquart (SCHWARZFAHRER, HEIMSPIEL, AM LIMIT) and Jeffrey Levy-Hinte (SOUL POWER, WHEN WE WERE KINGS) on the challenges of making documentaries;

Creating Worlds for the World: How does Production Design enter Minds? German Film Academy member Dirk Dotzert discusses with LOLA winning production designer Silke Buhr (THE LIVES OF OTHERS, FOUR MINUTES) about actual developments in her field of work.
