A Wide-angle lens is a lens with an angle that is greater than the natural perspective of the human eye. Compared to a standard lens, it has a shorter focal length and a wider angle of view. This allows a larger area to be mapped, offering "more" to the picture. A wide angle decreases the scale of objects relative to the distance. This results in the characteristic of wide angle lense large depth of field
