Glossary: Audition

A solo performance of part of a role in by an actor / actress as a test of how well they can perform the part. Decision makers judge the qualifications of the artist for a specific role (or for a commitment). In film and television, the audition might also include a "screen test." This is an audition that is filmed so that the Casting Director or director can see how the actor appears on screen
