Glossary: Extra or Background Actor

The German word "Statist" for this type of bit actor is outdated; actors playing small roles, usually parts devoid of individualism with no Dialog, only in support of the main action; often Extras are used in crowd scenes at hotels or train stations, they are persons used to decorate the sets.
