Glossary: Camera Operator

The Camera Operator is the chief cameraperson, but not normally the DP on larger productions.

He performs all the movements of the camera, ensures that the picture is properly framed according to the direction of the DP and or the Director and keeps track of all the technical parameters of the camera such as sharpness, unwanted reflections or other distracting elements in the Shot.
