Glossary: Camera (Swivel) Mount

A hydraulic mechanism comprising a platform upon which a camera can be mounted to enable panning or tilting. According to the weight of the camera and camera angle, the use of a camera mount like this prescribed. When used the mount provides a stable platform "plate" for desired Camera movements with adjustable dampening and very smooth movements. The connecting platform where the camera is seated between the mounting head and the camera is known as a Camera Plate.
