Glossary: Movie or Motion Picture Camera

A movie camera is a type of apparatus that takes a rapid sequence of photographs on perforated strips of film. In contrast to a still camera and to a digital still camera, the movie camera takes a series of images "frames" moved by a mechanism that simultaneously exposes each frame of film and advances the film strip. The Frames can later be replayed on a movie projector.
