Glossary: DEFA

Short for Deutsche Film AG, The German Film Production Association was founded in 1946 in Soviet Controlled East Germany/East Berlin. Since 1991 DEFA has produced approximately 800 Films (Live Action, TV, Animation and Documentary). Today the studio operates under the name Babelsberg Studios AG.
